This misogynist who sets himself up as a voice of reason has placed this video on youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5I8Dk… that basically blames women for allowing themselves to be raped. Let him know what you think.

"Their point was not that self defense is bad. However, arguing that women need to know how to defend themselves is basically saying it's their fault if they get raped. This perpetuates the cycle of victim blaming, making women who are victims ashamed of what happened to them. The most important way to stop rape is to end rape culture. Someone should do a logic fail on this video. By the way I used to teach women's self defence.
A few points.
1. If you bothered to look up criminology statistics you would have found out that very few women rape. It is a crime dominated by males and very much a male problem.
2. The tweeters are ethically and logically correct in pointing out that women are not responsible for the unethical behaviour of males. No person who is the victim of unethical behaviour is responsible for that behaviour. The responsibility lies with the perpetrator.
3. As it is male culture that inculcates the idea that it is ok to rape, it is male culture that has to change. I.e. it is males that are responsible for changing that culture.
4. In the second hand reporting on the study for which you provide a link to back up your argument, you fail to notice that it states that the number of attempted rapes are not reduced. Therefore, the self defence classes have not changed rape culture, thus falsifying your argument. (Incidentally, it is important to note that the popular media often misrepresents research data, which is why you should always seek out the source document).
5. Women have the same moral right to respect and safety as men and children. It is an inequality and an injustice that they should have to take precautions to try and attain that level of security.
You are arguing against very reasonable opinions in a very emotional and irrational way. I suspect it has something to do with your dick and the effect beauty contestants have on it. For someone who criticises other peoples logic, you're a bit of a hypocrite. You're just another loud mouth narcissist on youtube with nothing socially constructive to contribute.
